A Quality Education in Voice & Piano

The vocal and piano programs at the Contra Costa College Department of Music seek to change lives, serve as a community educational hub, and promote musical excellence by providing strategic and diverse learning opportunities to the West Contra Costa County community. Through intensive musical, performance, and business training, these programs make a positive difference in career possibilities, community musical offerings, and cultural engagement. Students of all ethnicities, ages, and socio-economic backgrounds can converge and synergize through music, honing their talent and pursuing their dreams.

Music majors excel when they transfer to universities or technical schools. Collegiate and advanced-level performance opportunities support students' ability to successfully audition and be accepted into their next educational level. Additionally, accelerated introductory musicianship, applied, and performance skill training is a priority for students with no prior musical training. The music major transfer program is a comprehensive music education program that covers theory, literature, and performance, in which students complete lower-division music major requirements. The course of study is designed to give students the knowledge and skills expected upon transfer as a junior to a four-year institution. The vocal and piano program's goal is not merely to transfer, but to prepare students to excel as future musical leaders in the field.

Community members are supported, enriched, and empowered through outstanding educational experiences, educatorship of the highest caliber, and course content consistent with national and international educational standards. Performance opportunities enrich students, as well as their families, audiences, and the community.

Take your music career to the next level.

Why Should I Give?

Your gift of any amount makes an enormous difference in the lives of our music students. Without your gift, we would be unable to offer the experiences and opportunities necessary for preparation within the competitive music industry.

Each day, hundreds of students walk through our doors seeking instruction in music. For many of these students, this will be their one and only experience in the musical arts. And these experiences are life changing!

Each year, our students overcome amazing challenges to create outstanding and artistic music. These students are skilled in classical, jazz, and cultural musical idioms, and many are proficient at two or more instruments. They represent the CCC programs and their community with dignity and professionalism. Opportunities for donation include:

  • "Helper for a Day" Fundraiser During the September Fundraising Month
  • Online Donor Recognition & Links
  • Vocal & Piano Showcase Advertisements
  • Gifts of Any Kind
